Scheduling Your Session

So you've decided to go with Ali Smith Photography for your photo session? GREAT! Now what? Once you are ready to book a session, contact me as soon as possible to ensure that you can get a date/time that is suitable for you. During the holiday season I do take on more sessions than I do throughout the rest of the year, but they still fill up very quickly! It is not uncommon for me to be booked out a month or more in advance, so please don't hesitate making your appointment.

Once you call/email, I do my best to get back to you promptly, though sometimes life gets in the way, so please allow 24-48 hours for me to respond, but also don't hesitate to call or email me again if I don't get back to you!

Over the phone or through email I will do a "consultation" to find out some details about what you are wanting for your session. We will also nail down a location. It will help speed the process if you include some basic information in your first email:
  • Desired location (or at least type of location)
  • Number of people in session and ages of children
  • Days that work best for you (keep in mind that I will be shooting around 9-10 for morning shoots and 3-5 for evening shoots, depending on time of year and location)
  • Desired time-frame for when you'd like your session to be held
  • Contact information
  • Of course, any questions you may have
I will do my very best to accommodate your schedule and find a time that is convenient for you, even for last minute appointments (when possible). The only days I do not schedule shoots for are Tuesdays, so I can usually be pretty flexible to your needs of a particular day.

Once we settle on a date and time for your session I will put it down in my calendar, however, payment for your session fee is due at the time of booking in order to reserve your spot. You may pay via Paypal or by mailing a check. Most who choose to mail a check prefer to do it as a "Billpay" check through their bank, so that is an option for you. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PAY VIA PAYPAL...please, please, please do not send a payment through before you book your session and reserve a date/time and I give you instructions to do so.  You can find my session and product pricing HERE.

I will confirm with you once I receive your payment and if I do not receive your payment within 5 business days, your spot will no longer be held and you risk the chance of losing it. I would hate to see that happen, but by paying the session fee, I can guarantee that you are serious about keeping your appointment.

The session fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, however, I understand that sometimes things come up that are out of your control and you must reschedule. As long as you give at least 24 hours notice, you may reschedule your session for a later date and the fee is transferable. If you do NOT give 24 hours notice or "no show" to your appointment the fee is forfeited. If you choose to book a new session, you must pay the session fee again. I do this because if you schedule a session and give me no notice of cancellation or cancel at the last minute, you are taking away a session spot, which in turn takes away my income that helps support my family. Please be respectful of my time and limited session availability.

Keep in mind that things can come up on my end, too! I have never had to cancel a session, but I know it's only a matter of time. It could be due to things such as a sick child (or being sick myself), equipment malfunction, weather, etc. I will always give you as much notice as is possible and will be as accommodating as possible when rescheduling.
